Jacquesson cuvee 738

🇬🇧
We had tasted this Jacquesson Cuvée No. 738 Extra Brut champagne, made with Chardonnay (61%), Pinot Menier (21%) and Pinot Noir (18%) grapes from the 2010 harvest and disgorged in 2015. We are not going to deny that we were a little worried about not being at it best, but after opening it we found that our fear was unfounded.
It’s made with reserve wines (33%), grand and premiere crus (the rest), raised in foudres on it lees. The first aroma that you find is Golden Apple. When it is oxygenated, the over-ripened apricot aroma appears. The bubbles are very gentle and plentiful, and a glycemic layer helps to keep them in the glass. In the palate, its acidity is spectacular, and its complex aromatic and gustatory palette is expressed while it is opening.
It is not cheap but if you receive it as a gift (as we did) you will enjoy the experience even more.
