Varios meses después de haberlo degustado, aún no tenemos claro por qué una tarde de sábado esta botella de Vega Sicilia Único 2005 decidió encontrarnos.
Cuando las uvas de Tempranillo y Cabernet Sauvignon que forman el coupage de este vino estaban fermentando en tinos de madera, quienes formamos NosVamosDeVinos iniciábamos nuestro particular coupage. Así que ya ha llovido. Después de la fermentación alcohólica y la maloláctica, el Único hace una larguísima crianza tanto en madera como en la botella, y el 2005, de hecho, tuvo que esperar un par de años más de lo habitual para ver la luz.
La nota de cata os la vamos a ahorrar. Es un vinazo; es indiscutible. Solo diremos que es uno de esos vinos que ha de compartirse, que es capaz de convertir una tarde de sábado cualquiera en una auténtica celebración.

Several months after having tasted it, we’re still not sure why on a Saturday afternoon this bottle of Vega Sicilia Unico 2005 decided to run into us.
When the Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes that form the coupage of this wine were fermenting in wooden vats, NosVamosDeVinos started our particular coupage. So some time has passed. After the alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, the Único makes a very long aging both in wood and in the bottle, and the 2005 vintage, in fact, had to wait a couple of years more than usual to reach the market.
Today there’s no tasting note. It is a great wine; It’s indisputable. We’ll only say that it’s one of those wines that has to be shared, which is capable of turning any Saturday afternoon into a real celebration.
