2015 fue la primera añada de Forlong 80/20, la añada que le dio nombre al vino, ya que el 20 % de las uvas fermentó con pieles. Pero hoy vamos a hablar de la segunda añada que salió al mercado.
Forlong 80/20 2016 es un monovarietal de Palomino prodecente del pago de la Balabaína que fermenta como un tinto, con las pieles… pero no con las suyas, ya que en este vino se usan hollejos de Pedro Ximénez. Y una vez retiradas las pieles, el vino pasa cinco meses en depósito antes de ser embotellado, sin filtrar ni clarificar.
En nariz es muy expresivo, con notas florales y de fruta fresca que no esconden la mineralidad del suelo del que proceden las uvas. En boca es un vino frutal, en el que la albariza toma el protagonismo; un vino amplio y largo con un final amargo y sencillamente delicioso.
Los que nos conocéis un poco, ya sabéis que Forlong es una de nuestras bodegas fetiche. Todavía no hemos catado todo su amplio catálogo, pero dadnos tiempo, porque cuando vemos Forlong en una lista de vinos, tiene muchas posibilidades de que lo pidamos.

2015 was the first vintage of Forlong 80/20, the vintage that gave the wine its name, because 20% of the grapes fermented with skins. But today we are going to talk about the second vintage that hit the market.
Forlong 80/20 2016 is a Palomino single varietal from albariza soil that ferments like a red wine, with the skins … but not with theirs, because Pedro Ximénez skins are used in this wine. And once the skins are removed, the wine spends five months in the tank before being bottled, without needing filtering or clarifying.
On the nose it’s very expressive, with floral and fresh fruit notes that do not hide the minerality of the soil where the grapes grew. In the palate it’s a fruit wine, in which the albariza notes takes center stage, a long wine with a bitter and simply delicious aftertaste.
Those who know us a little already know that Forlong is one of our fetish wineries. We have not yet tasted its entire catalog, but give us time, because when we see Forlong in a wine list, it has a good chance that we’ll order it.
